PUMPKO v1.6.0 - AUTOMATIC INTERBBS SCORE SHARING
==============================================
Enable InterBBS during installation. New BBSes enroll automatically at
https://scores.a-net.online; existing installations reuse credentials.

The game starts native synchronization in the background on launch and
exit. Scores are queued in data/interbbs-outbox.tsv. Windows uses
hub/PUMPKO-SYNC.exe; Linux uses PUMPKO-CONFIG --sync and system curl.
No Python or PowerShell is required at the BBS.

A durable checkpoint records acknowledged bytes. Failed requests retain
pending events. Event IDs are deterministic and compatible with the older
Python helper, so a retry cannot add the same event twice. Story and Daily
leaderboards are downloaded into data/interbbs-story.tsv and
interbbs-daily.tsv. Refresh Hall -> I -> S/D after sync has finished.

DIAGNOSTICS
-----------
Windows: hub\PUMPKO-SYNC.exe
         hub\PUMPKO-SYNC.exe --test-connection
Linux:   ./PUMPKO-CONFIG --sync
         ./PUMPKO-CONFIG --test-connection
Windows errors: hub/sync-windows-error.log.
Linux diagnostics print to the terminal; background attempts are silent.
Connection tests refresh caches; they do not submit a synthetic score.

LOCKS / CHECKPOINTS
------------------
Linux retains the existing SQLite checkpoint and its .lock directory,
which also prevents overlap with the older Python client. Remove a stale
lock only after confirming that no synchronization worker is running.
Windows uses the native text cursor; previous SQLite cursors are migrated
on upgrade, retaining the original database. Stop all workers first.
Do not reset or delete a checkpoint to troubleshoot a connection.

Existing custom URLs and state paths are retained during upgrades.
Windows requires HTTPS. Linux honors saved explicit remote HTTP consent
for legacy installations, but new installations use HTTPS.
A BBS's registered identity must match its saved credentials exactly.
Keep secrets and their backups private; never include them in releases.
